Stash CLI

Command-line knowledge vault and full-text indexer for capturing links, snippets, files, and emails.

Overview

Stash CLI is a personal knowledge vault for the terminal. It captures URLs, code snippets, files, directory trees, images, and emails—and indexes them with fast local full-text search.

It is the headless engine that powers Stash for macOS, sharing the same SQLite database and archive storage.

Features

  • Multi-Type Stashing: Add URLs (stash add https://...), code snippets (stash add -t "My Snippet"), or files (stash add file.pdf).
  • Full-Text Search: Query titles, tags, notes, and extracted text with ranking algorithms.
  • Interactive TUI: Built with Bubble Tea; browse items, view ASCII image previews, and batch-manage your vault directly in your shell.
  • Streaming Health Checks: stash check --stream emits newline-delimited JSON events as broken links or missing files are detected.
  • Script-Friendly JSON: Pass --json to any command for easy piping to jq.
