Asciizer

Terminal-native ASCII art generator and high-contrast image converter for terminal banners and docs.

Overview

Asciizer converts bitmap images and icons into clean, high-contrast ASCII and ANSI character art directly inside your terminal.

Designed for generating CLI tool banners, system status displays, and README documentation graphics, asciizer provides fine-grained control over character ramps, contrast thresholds, and 24-bit TrueColor ANSI output.

Features

  • TrueColor & 256-Color ANSI: Outputs vibrant terminal colors or monochrome text.
  • Custom Character Ramps: Choose from classic sparse-to-dense character gradients or define custom glyph sets.
  • Terminal Width Auto-Scaling: Detects the current terminal dimensions and resizes output cleanly without line-wrapping distortion.
  • Clipboard Export: Copy generated ASCII text directly to your macOS clipboard with --copy.

zsh — install asciizer
$ brew tap tanagersoftware/tap $ brew install asciizer
