SQLite Schema & SQL Console

Explore the internal architecture, table relationships, and the embedded SQL console in Recruit.

Recruit is designed under a strict local-first philosophy: all data is stored in a clean, standard SQLite database at ~/.recruit/recruit.db.

Core Schema Structure

The database maintains a normalized relational schema with foreign key integrity enforced:

  • opportunities: Core pipeline applications, target companies, statuses, stages, salary targets, and notes.
  • contacts: Curated professional network members, relationship tiers, communication cadences, and last-contact dates.
  • interactions: Chronological interaction logs (emails, interviews, calls, follow-ups).
  • interviews: Scheduled interview rounds, interviewer affiliations, and audio recording metadata.
  • jot_activities: Weekly compliance logs for the Unemployment Outreach Tracker.
  • style_rules: Personal Style Blueprint directives, positive examples, and forbidden phrases.

In-App SQL Console & ERD Diagram

Recruit includes an embedded SQL console accessible directly within the macOS application (Tools → SQL Console):

  • Query Mode: Write raw SQL queries against your database with Tab completion for tables and column names. Run queries with ⌘↩ and inspect execution performance with ⌘⇧↩ (EXPLAIN QUERY PLAN).
  • Interactive Schema ERD: Explore tables, relationships, and foreign keys visually on an interactive force-directed graph canvas with pinch-to-zoom and drag re-layout.
